This past weekend, WR Chris Omigie, of Martin High School in Arlington, TX, took his fifth and final…
Time To Think For Omigie
"It went good. I got there Friday, and we went to dinner with the coaches and some of the hosts. Then we went out with our hosts. Saturday morning we had breakfast and then toured the athletic facilities. Then we went and had lunch then went to the basketball game, Purdue versus Indiana State. Then we went to dinner and headed out with our hosts again. On Sunday we had meetings with our position coaches and the head coach" Omigie recalled to BoilerSportsReport.
With all five of his visits now complete, many are wondering if Omigie is yet to announce a public leader. That isn't the case though for the monstrous Texas pass catcher.
"They're all still pretty level because I haven't had the chance to sit down and think about what happened on the trips. I need to playback in my head what I need to playback in order to make a good decision."
It's a list that can be pretty lengthy for any high school prospect having to sit down and choose where to go for the next four years of their life. But, it's a list that Omigie has all but settled on.
"The academics, the football program, how the school is going to set me up for life after football. I know that I can't play football for the rest of my life. Basically, all the other opportunities that the school has for me after I get done with my football career."
While the Boilers coaching staff has certainly put in the effort to land Omigie, they've also been getting a little help from the state of Florida in the person of Boiler commit Rob Henry.
"He (Purdue QB commit Rob Henry) sends me text messages telling me to take a good hard look at Purdue. He tells me to think about the school and making a good choice and stuff like that."
With Purdue coming at almost every angle, it's now a process of hurrying up and waiting for when Omigie feels comfortable enough to make a decision or at the very least narrow down his list.
"Now I'm just going to sit back and think about my decision."
