Plue Talks Boiler Commitment
"I'm originally from New York and obviously Boston College is a lot closer to my home but I wanted to go to a school where I felt wanted and Purdue was that school. I have a chance to play next year."
Plue, a 6-foot-8, 343-pounder, from Rennselaer, New York, was recruited coming out of high school last year by several schools and had to attend Milford this year because he didn't have the qualifying test score in order to be eligible to play D-1 football in 2007.
Plue will enroll at Purdue in January with four years of eligibility. We spoke with Milford Academy coach Billy Chaplick and he had some very impressive things to say about the future Boilermaker.
"Kenny is having a great season," Coach Chaplick said. "I think Purdue is going to be very happy. Kenny works hard he's very strong and moves extremely well for a big man. Kenny is one our team captains on a team that's currently 6-0."
Plue enjoyed Saturday's victory over Notre Dame.
"The stadium was electric," Plue said. "The student section was very rowdy and I had the best time. Purdue has been a solid program for a long time now. They're having a great season and I can't wait to get there this winter."
Plue was scheduled to visit North Carolina State this weekend. That visit has been cancelled.
