Ill D-End Makes Decision

DE Dan Giordano

Dan Giordano, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound, defensive end, from Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East, had Purdue on his list of early favorites. The Boilers had yet to offer Giordano a scholarship this summer and it doesn't look like they'll get the chance. Giordano made a verbal commitment this weekend to a Big East school.

"I'm verbally committed to Cincinnati now," Dan Giordano told the Boiler Sports Report.

"I went down to Cincinnati on a visit and I liked the campus and the coaches. The campus isn't that far away from home and my family will be able to come down and watch me play. I thought I fit in perfect down there.

"The facilities at Cincinnati were awesome. Out of all the schools that had offered me a scholarship, I felt Cincinnati was my best choice and I felt comfortable there. I'm 100% committed."

Lincoln-Way East coach Rob Zvonar had this to say about Giordano.

"Dan is a beast," said Zvonar. "He (Giordano) holds our single season sack record. Dan's just a freak of nature. He's athletic and mean as the day is old."

Lincoln-Way East is one of the top prep powers in Illinois. Coach Zvonar was selected to coach in last years Army All-American game.

As a junior, Giordano had 74 tackles, 20 were solos, 15 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and 4 caused fumbles. He was an all-state selection.
