Schools Taking Notice of Evanston DT

A prospect that college recruiters have started to warm up to is Evanston, Ill., defensive tackle Danny Farr. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound, defensive tackle, looked very good at a recent combine and he plans on attending the Scout.com combine this coming Saturday at the College of Du Page in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.

"I'm ready to go," Farr told Scout.com

"I'll be at the combine on Saturday and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the top prospects from around the Midwest."

Farr is a prospect that physically looks great in person and he flashes on film. We asked Evanston head coach Tony Johnson if he could touch on the talents of Danny Farr.

"First and foremost I see a young man with a lot of potential." Johnson said.

"Offers are starting to roll in on a steady basis. Danny runs well but in my opinion, he needs to get more physical. Right now, Danny is getting by on natural ability. Once it finally clicks for him, I see a young man that will be tough to stop."

Which schools have offered Farr a scholarship?

"I have offers from Illinois, Cincinnati, Minnesota and Toledo," Farr said.

"I grew up a fan of Purdue. They are one of my favorites along with Iowa, Kansas State, Purdue and Colorado.

"It's also nice that Nickaro (Golding) is at Purdue. We were teammates last year at Evanston and who knows, maybe we'll be teammates at Purdue."

Farr carries a 3.3 GPA in the classroom. He told us that right now he doesn't plan on making an early commitment and isn't sure which camps he'll be attending this summer.

We'll have more on Danny Farr after the Chicago combine this Saturday.
