A high school linebacker, the 5'11, 190-lb Lugo likely projects to safety at the next level, and the speed and explosion training he is receiving under the tutelage of founder/CEO Paul Szczesny, is preparing him for this summer's camp run.
Lugo has not wasted time this spring however, and has began taking visits and seeing what schools have to offer.
"First, I started at Northwestern," he said, " for two morning spring practices, one without pads, one with. Then I have recently gone to Toledo for a day with my family, just a regular, average day of practice and they invited me to the spring game this Friday."
From there, Lugo came back to his home state, before finishing in West Lafayette, Indiana.
That Purdue visit allowed him to get a good look at the school.
"They gave me a quick tour around the college campus, school centers, tutoring, where to go to get help with school work, the weight room, indoor facility. I met my position coach, recruiting coach, and they invited me back to campus. They want me to visit more."
As for upcoming visits, Lugo has a return trip to Toledo, but that is all that is on his calendar. Other than working out at Core 6 of course.
"Whenever I can, whenever I'm open, I come here to get work in. I don't feel out of shape. I feel good coming in and definitely when I leave. I just take a quick cool shower and relax after."
